HMSHost To Bring Coffee, Burgers to JAX

HMSHost will open airport locations of the popular Florida-based Southern Grounds and BurgerFi at Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) this year as part of a new, 10-year, $60 million contract the concessionaire and ACDBE partner Lee Wesley Group signed with the airport.

Southern Grounds is a chef-driven coffee house that features a craft menu with ingredients sourced from local purveyors whenever possible. The JAX location will provide travelers all-day options, including sandwiches, salads and tartines, including gluten-free as well as vegetarian and health-forward options.

“We’re thrilled to partner with the Jacksonville Aviation Authority to bring local businesses into the airport, especially one like Southern Grounds that has deep local roots and delivers a beloved community gathering place into the concourse,” says HMSHost vice president of business development, Stephen Douglas. “With the upcoming opening, we’re sending travelers off with one last bite and sip of a hometown favorite.”

BurgerFi, an American fast casual restaurant chain focused on all-natural hamburgers, fries, hot dogs and custard, will open at a later date in conjunction with the airport’s construction in Concourse B.
