DAL’s Duebner To Retire

After 27 years with the city of Dallas, Duebner will retire from his position as director of aviation on November 8, 2022. Since stepping into leadership in 2011, Duebner has overseen the complete transformation of the Dallas Airport System, which operates Dallas Love Field (DAL), Dallas Executive Airport and the Dallas Vertiport.

The airport has not announced plans for an interim or permanent replacement.

Duebner spent several years working for the city of Dallas before joining the aviation department. Some of his most notable accomplishments include overseeing the construction of the terminal modernization at DAL and its Garage C, managing the doubling of passenger traffic at DAL after the expiration of Wright Amendment restrictions, and bringing the Commemorative Air Force’s World Headquarters to Dallas Executive Airport. More recently, DAL completed its largest airfield project in the airport’s history with the full reconstruction of runway 13R-31L under Duebner’s leadership.

“Serving the City of Dallas for the last 27 years has been the most rewarding experience,” said Duebner. “I’ve seen the DFW Metroplex landscape change tremendously and have had the pleasure of working alongside many dedicated civil servants and elected officials who supported the efforts of every department I was blessed to be a part of.” Duebner added that “It’s been a privilege to contribute to the evolution of one of the most vital transportation systems in Texas and it has been a true honor to serve the Dallas community.”
