Dinsdale Named YYC President/CEO

Global airport executive Chris Dinsdale has been named the new president and CEO of The Calgary Airport Authority, operator of Calgary International Airport (YYC). The airport authority said Dinsdale was chosen for his “deep experience, passion and proven track record in airports, along with his emphasis on developing lean and efficient operations.

“In addition, his focus on providing a unique and high-quality passenger experience and his experience developing strategic airline partnerships will allow YYC to continue its development into the future,” the authority said in announcing the appointment.

Dinsdale, who was appointed following an extensive international  search, was previously CEO of the Budapest Airport (BUD) in Hungary since April 2021. At BUD, he had also been chief financial officer, deputy CEO, and managing director of airport fuel services.

Prior to joining the aviation industry, Dinsdale, who was born and raised in Canada. worked as the CFO of the publicly listed Wildhorse Energy and in various capacities at KPMG Hungary.

Dinsdale replaces Bob Sartor, who announced his departure as president & CEO in March 2022 after six years in the role.

“Chris is a highly regarded leader in aviation, finance and business,” said Matthew Heffernan, chair of the airport authority board. “We are confident his leadership, operational knowledge and focus on positive customer experiences will ensure The Authority continues on its path of robust recovery and growth.”
