ARN Revamps Awards Nominating, Voting Process

Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., July 30, 2008…Airport Revenue News (ARN) is announcing a radical change in the nomination and voting processes for its annual Best Concessions Awards.  Notably, there will be much greater involvement by the industry.

“We have worked on changes to this process for several months, with the goal of allowing more concepts and airports to be nominated as well as broadening the pool of voters,” says Pauline Armbrust, president and chief executive officer of the Armbrust Aviation Group, the publisher of Airport Revenue News. “Also, this approach removes ARN from the process entirely, putting us in a purely administrative position.”

Nominating and voting will be conducted strictly online.  A point person for each airport and company will be notified to register up to three (3) people to represent their airport/company in nominating and voting.  Those representatives will then be sent a unique link that will transport them to the nominating/voting page.  During the nominating process, airports/companies will be allowed to nominate both airports and concessions.  During the voting process, a unique link will be sent that will limit airports to vote only in concession categories and companies to vote only in airport categories.

The nomination process will begin the week of Aug. 11, 2008, and will be open for approximately four weeks.  The site will then be closed as nominees are processed and verified.  Nominees will appear in the November 2008 issue of ARN.  Voting will then begin Nov. 10, 2008, and will run for approximately four weeks.  The program will then automatically tally the votes.
