ATL, Delta Extend Partnership Another 7 Years

The city of Atlanta and Delta Air Lines have signed a seven-year lease extension.

The relationship between the Atlanta-based airline and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International (ATL) has lasted for nearly 80 years and has helped to make the airport one of the world’s busiest. ATL has a $23.5B annual economic impact on the metro Atlanta region.

“The lease extension confirms the airport will be a major player in the economic recovery of the city and state,” says Mayor Shirley Franklin. “As Delta makes business decisions across the globe, the continuing airline/airport partnership will ensure Atlanta’s position as its primary hub.”

Aviation General Manager Ben DeCosta says: “We are proud to be the world’s busiest and most efficient airport, and the lease extension will allow continuing investment in our facilities to meet the growing demands of an increasing number of passengers traveling through Hartsfield-Jackson.”
