ATL Now Using Electric Shuttle Carts In Economy Lots

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International (ATL) has permanently switched from gas-powered to electric shuttle carts in both the north and south economy parking lots.

The black carts, which can transport up to five adults and their luggage, bear the airport’s ParkATL logo.

“These electric shuttle carts are driving us toward a greener tomorrow today,” Aviation General Manager Louis Miller says. “With more than 16,000 combined parking spaces in our economy lots, these vehicles will help reduce the airport’s overall carbon footprint as courtesy officers transport customers directly from their cars to the terminal curbside and vice versa.”

The electric carts also have quieter engines, lower maintenance costs, tires designed for surface street driving and no fuel costs.

“We are pleased to provide our customers with greener services and access to safe, secure on-site parking facilities 24 hours a day,” Miller says. “As we continue to enhance how we do business, customers still will experience the same fast, friendly and reliable service.”

The courtesy shuttle service is offered from 8 a.m. to midnight seven days a week. All parking lots are open 24 hours.
