Aveda Offers MSP Travelers Respite From Airport Bustle

Travelers at Minneapolis-St. Paul International (MSP) who need a bit of stress relief can take a break at the Aveda Experience Center.

The company has joined forces with HMSHost Corp. to open the first mainland location in Terminal 1-Lindbergh. Consumers can experience complimentary signature Aveda rituals, as well as hair-care, skin-care and body-care products, and specially designed travel sets.

Aveda also is launching an iPad travel app to use at the Aveda locations at MSP and DFS Waikiki Galleria. The app will be available for use only in the store and will help guests find Aveda salons around the world. It will be available in English and Japanese, and more features will arrive in the fall.

At MSP, the 800 sq. ft. store will feature locally manufactured display fixtures made from reclaimed wood and sustainable bamboo; wall panels will include construction with rapidly renewable coconut palm trees, and two plant wills will have live greenery.

“We are proud to open the first Aveda Experience Center in a U.S. airport in our hometown of Minneapolis,” says Catherine Culotta, vice president of retail for Aveda. “Our goal is to create a truly unique, immersive brand experience for the traveler and to transport guests to an oasis of relaxation in what can sometimes be a stressful environment.”
