A new program called Hertz Fast Lane powered by CLEAR, a service that will use biometrics to expedite the car rental process, has debuted at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) The effort is a collaboration between rental company Hertz and biometric technology company CLEAR, and is the first of its kind at an airport.
Hertz Gold Plus Rewards members and CLEAR members alike are invited to sign up so they can verify their identity and rental reservations with only a scan of the eye or finger when picking up a rental car at ATL. The service is the first to allow airport guests the ability to bypass showing a physical ID when renting a vehicle and instead rely on biometric data.
Hertz plans to welcome more than 40 additional Fast Lane services to its locations around the country, including at other airports, such as Los Angeles International (LAX), John F. Kennedy International (JFK) and San Francisco International (SFO).
“We’re excited to introduce Hertz Fast Lane powered by CLEAR to get Hertz customers through the exit gate without the wait and on the road faster,” says Hertz CEO Kathryn Marinello. “By teaming with CLEAR, Hertz gets a partner with an expanding footprint and proven track record to help us innovate the car rental process, improve the customer experience and bring meaningful benefits to busy travelers.”
