Travelers flying through Boise (BOI) will soon experience a new concessions program that incorporates a local feel.
Paradies-Taters will be the news and specialty retail concessionaire, and Delaware North Companies Travel Hospitality Services was selected to provide food and beverage operations, under a deal approved by the Boise City Council in late June.
“The Boise Airport is one of the most convenient and beautiful airports in the country,” says Mayor David Bieter. “It makes perfect sense to use the airport as a venue to highlight the local restaurants and products that help make Boise the unique and livable city it is.”
Delaware North will include two pre-security restaurants, Parrilla Grill and 13 Street Pub and Grill.
Beyond security, the concessionaire will bring Einstein Bros., Big City Coffee, Cross Grain Brewhouse, Harvest & Grounds Bakery and Coffee, and Bardenay. The company also will sell locally sourced food and beverage, such as beer from Sockeye Brewing Co. and Crooked Fence, or wine from Cinder Wines.
Paradies-Taters will open a pre-security news and gift shop called The River 94.9 FM. Post-security locations will include Greenbelt “It’s a Boise Thing”; Idaho Statesman store, CNBC Smartshop and a CNBC Express kiosk.
Paradies-Taters will partner with local entities such as Boise Co-Op, which will provide sandwiches, salads, gourmet snacks and other grab-and-go products; the River 94.9 FM, which will feature local artists making appearances throughout the year; and Boise State University, which will offer signature items so far only found in university-owned Bronco Shops.
The new contracts will begin Oct. 1.
