Bookseller Contract For DEN Heads To City Council, Mayor

A new concessions contract for Denver International (DEN) has come before the Denver City Council’s Business, Workforce and Sustainability Committee.

The agreement would bring the locally famous Tattered Cover Book Store to the airport. With the committee’s unanimous approval, the contract will now go to the Denver City Council and Mayor Michael B. Hancock.

The bookstore would come to DEN as part of an exclusive license agreement with the existing airport bookseller, Hudson News. The agreement provides for the construction of four Hudson News locations, four Tattered Cover locations and one combination Hudson News and Tattered Cover location. Construction would be finished in 2014.

“The Tattered Cover has been a Denver institution for over 40 years and we’re proud to bring them to DIA,” says Chief Commercial Officer John Ackerman. “This unique concession agreement will combine a successful, existing operator with an iconic, local brand. We’re excited to be able to offer this amenity to the traveling public.”
