BOS opens cell phone lot

Instead of repeatedly circling the airport, people meeting arriving flights at Boston Logan International (BOS) will now have the option of waiting in a cell phone lot.

BOS has joined with several other airports across the US in opening such a lot, which will be open 24 hours a day. It opens Thursday, Sept. 27, on the newly landscaped Harborside Drive just minutes from the airport.
Airport officials say the lot meets a need requested by consumers. They ask that drivers stay no longer than 30 minutes and wait with their vehicles at all times.
