The Greater Rockford Airport Authority, which operates Chicago Rockford International (RFD), was honored for the 16th consecutive year with the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association.
The airport was recognized for satisfying nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentations, achieving “proficient” ratings in four categories made up of 14 mandatory criteria. The presentations are based on how well the budgets serve as a policy document, a financial plan, an operations guide and a communications device.
“Managing taxpayer investments in a responsible manner is critical to the element of trust we’ve developed in the community,” says Mike Dunn, executive director of RFD. “The airport leadership and staff work diligently to create and adhere to budget documents that serve as a guide to achieving goals that promote growth in the region.”
