Tricopian, Inc., a San Diego, California-based developer, announced that it is offering FuelRod, an innovative mobile charging service, at Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT). This is the 29th airport in the United States to offer this unique portable charging service. Instead of being tethered to an electric outlet or trying to find a charging station, customers can purchase a FuelRod portable charging kit complete with connection cables and charge-up to recharge their Apple or Android devices with FuelRod from any one of the 10 convenient SwapBox® kiosks located throughout the airport. Users can then swap a used FuelRod for a fully recharged one at any of the kiosks located throughout the network.
To make the travel experience less stressful for its 44 million annual passengers, CLT solicited proposals for mobile charging and selected FuelRod. This service is intended to make sure travelers have their devices powered on the go while they enjoy the dining and shopping experiences an airport has to offer— without suffering from ‘low battery anxiety.’
“We’re excited to add Charlotte Douglas to the growing list of airports that offer our convenient mobile charging service,” said Tricopian co-founder Joe Yeagley. “Allowing travelers to unplug from a wall or charging station gives them more freedom to take advantage of the unique experiences each airport has to offer. The FuelRod service eliminates the additional stress caused from ‘low battery anxiety,’ providing a more pleasant travel experience in every airport where our kiosks are deployed.”
