Eva The Avatar Facilitating Security Lines At SAT

San Antonio International (SAT) has introduced two avatars named Eva into its Transportation Security Administration lines in Terminal A to expedite the process and facilitate customer readiness for their checks.

Similar to a hologram, the avatars are projected video images that are activated via motion sensors when a customer approaches or passes. SAT has one in its general boarding line and one in its TSA PreCheck line, with messages tailored to the appropriate passengers.

Eva will provide information about proper identification, items to be placed in bins and prohibited items that must be left behind. The avatars’ messages are scripted in English, Spanish and alternate languages when activated.

“The avatars are another customer service tool to enhance security checkpoint experience,” says San Antonio Aviation Director Frank Miller. “Eva offers good information and friendly reminders that will help passengers move quickly and efficiently through security.”

The avatars were created and manufactured by Airus Media Inc.
