Fire emergencies not stopping SAN

San Diego International (SAN) has remained open with no flight cancellations and few delays despite fire emergencies in San Diego County that have forced families to evacuate from houses nearby.
Travelers are advised to contact their airlines for information on possible delays or cancellations that may result. A handful of passengers have arrived at SAN to find that they are unable to travel to their destination. Those people have been encouraged to gather at Gate 19 in Terminal 1 where they can make phone calls or access free Wi-Fi to make arrangements, says Sharie Shipley, a spokeswoman.

“It’s basically set up for people who arrive and find out they can’t get home or to where they’re going,” she says, adding that thus far nobody has had to make plans to stay the night.
