Five Guys Arrives At LGA’s Food & Shops

Five Guys Burgers and Fries has brought its sizzle to the Food & Shops at LaGuardia (LGA).

Located pre-security on the departures level of the Central Terminal Building in the food court near Gates D, the eatery offers burgers, fries, hot dogs and veggie sandwiches; customers are able to choose from a variety of toppings at no extra cost. This location also offers breakfast.

“We are thrilled to welcome Five Guys Burgers and Fries to LaGuardia Airport,” says Lillian Tan, vice president and general manager of MarketPlace Development, the retail development company that manages the retail and food program in the terminal. “Five Guys will give our passengers yet another compelling reason to visit the airport early. The addition of Five Guys helps to fulfill our goal of providing customers with a superior dining experience.”

Michael Hoover, franchise owner of the LGA location, says the company is “excited to join the Food & Shops family at LaGuardia Airport.”

“It’s an honor and privilege for us to be part of one of the busiest airports in the nation in the biggest city in the nation.”

The Philadelphia Marketplace Food & Shops at Philadelphia International (PHL) has announced its merchants of the quarter for Q4 2009-10.

For the first time, two companies have taken the honor: Guava & Java and The Neat Co. Guava & Java also won in Q1, and The Neat Co. in Q2 and Q3.

The win was part of Philadelphia Marketplace’s EDGE! Program, or Excellence Drives Great Experiences. Merchants can earn EDGE! Points for customer service and participation in marketing programs; the merchant with the most points at the end of the quarter earns the distinction of merchant of the quarter.

Guava & Java offers gourmet coffee, smoothies, sandwiches and paninis, and can be found on Concourse A-East, Concourse E and the recently opened Concourse B location.

The Neat Co., on Concourses B and C, sells software with customized scanners that help businesses and consumers organize, store and secure paper receipts, business cards and documents. The company, based in Philadelphia, began in PHL’s specialty retail program in 2002 and is now a national operation.

“As repeat winners this year, both companies have demonstrated a continued commitment to excellence in customer service,” says Anna DiGregorio, director of marketing for the Philadelphia Marketplace Food & Shops. “We are proud to award the title to two winners this quarter and congratulate the staff at Guava & Java and The Neat Co.”
