HMSHost Begins Constructions On First Of 2 New Concessions At FAI

Fairbanks International (FAI) will welcome two new concessions in the coming months, courtesy of HMSHost Corp.

Construction on Starbucks started this month, and the coffee house is expected to open by the end of the year.

The Local will be a full-service gastropub that will feature dishes such as beef brisket, hot pastrami, a Reuben with kraut and Russian dressing, and turkey sliders with avocado butter; a variety of local brews and cocktails also will be available. Construction is set to begin in January.

“We are so excited to be opening these new establishments in Fairbanks International Airport,” says Stephen Douglas, vice president of business development at HMSHost. “It is a very nice airport, and the team there has been great to work with. Construction is already underway, and we are looking forward to serving Alaska travelers a selection of local goods as well as iconic beverages from Starbucks.”
