HMSHost Brings Baseball Fever To ORD With Cubs Bar & Grill

The Chicago Cubs are bringing their spirit to Chicago O’Hare International (ORD).

Through a partnership between HMSHost Corp. and the Chicago Department of Aviation, Cubs Bar & Grill is a customized sports bar featuring Cubs-themed dishes. Breakfast is on the menu from 6 to 11 a.m.; lunch and dinner are served until 9 p.m. The menu is reminiscent of the one at Wrigley Field, including Vienna Beef Hot Dogs and the Stan Burger, as well as newly created appetizers, salads, soups, sandwiches, dinner entrees and desserts. The bar offers more than 20 types of beer and a selection of cocktails and wines.

“HMSHost is very pleased to be joining our DBE partner and operator Efie’s Canteen Inc. to bring the Cubs Bar & Grill to travelers on their way through Chicago O’Hare International Airport, and to share with them such a popular local icon,” says HMSHost Vice President of Business Development Stephen Douglas.

The restaurant, in Terminal 3, also features a replica Wrigley Field Marquee, Cubs memorabilia, framed autographed jerseys, photos of celebrity seventh-inning-stretch performers, classic magazine covers and other historic Cubs marks and logos. Souvenirs are offered for sale at the retail kiosk, including authenticated game-used and autographed Cubs Authentics memorabilia.

“The Cubs are very excited to partner with HMSHost and the Chicago Department of Aviation to offer travelers a taste of the Chicago Cubs and Wrigley Field at O’Hare International Airport,” says Wally Hayward, executive vice president, chief of sales and marketing officer for the Chicago Cubs. “The Cubs Bar & Grill will give travelers an opportunity to experience the Cubs brand even if they’re just passing through O’Hare to connect to another city.”

Rosemarie S. Andolino, commissioner of the Chicago Department of Aviation, says the airport is “very excited” about the new dining addition.

“Chicago’s airports provide the perfect opportunity to introduce our world-class city to visitors and help promote tourism,” she says. “This new Cubs sports bar brings some of the fun, rich tradition, unique experience and iconic features of Wrigley Field to O’Hare for passengers to enjoy both during and after the baseball season. I know this restaurant is going to be a big hit with the millions of passengers from around the world who travel through Chicago’s global gateway.”
