HMSHost, Garcia Partner To Open Lorena Garcia Tapas At ATL

HMSHost Corp. and celebrity chef Lorena Garcia are collaborating on a new venture at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International (ATL).

Lorena Garcia Tapas, post-security in the Concourse F Mezzanine of the International Terminal, is the first airport location for the concept. Menu items include Garcia’s signature tapas dishes such as mango-glazed chicken wings, turkey bacon-wrapped dates stuffed with goat cheese, roasted Portobello mushroom sliders and a citrus chicken-marinated avocado wrap. Wine, beers from around the world and cocktails are also available.

“We are pleased to continue our tradition of excellent restaurants at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport,” says HMSHost Vice President of Business Development Anthony Alessi. “We are always excited to work with the amazing people at Hartsfield-Jackson, and working with a world-class chef like Lorena Garcia has been an absolute honor.”

It is the second time HMSHost and Garcia have worked together. They opened LorenaGARCIA Cocina at Miami International (MIA) in 2011.

“After successfully entering the airport restaurant arena with the opening of LorenaGARCIA Cocina at Miami International Airport, I was extremely excited to work with HMSHost again on the opening of Lorena Garcia Tapas at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport,” Garcia says. “I am very proud of this restaurant and the variety of tapas dishes that we’ve created specifically for this location.”

Louis Miller, aviation general manager at ATL, says the airport is proud to welcome the restaurant to the airport.

“Hartsfield-Jackson is continuing an upgrade to the food and beverage program, and we are thrilled to add Lorena Garcia Tapas Bar to the offerings in the international terminal,” he says. “The international flavor of Ms. Garcia’s dishes makes this an appropriate restaurant for our travelers from throughout the world, and her emphasis on healthy options will appeal to the increasing number of diners who are seeking healthy alternatives.”
