Icebox Café© Lets Customers Pre-Order Meals At MIA

Icebox Café© has brought its fare to the American Airlines terminal at Miami International (MIA).

The original location of the local favorite opened in 1998 in South Beach, Fla., as a boutique bakery and deli and now offers brunch, lunch and dinner featuring American fusion cuisine, as well as desserts.

The location at the airport features an abbreviated hot entré©e menu including items such as curry chicken with roasted vegetables, roasted brisket and a roasted turkey sandwich with house-made stuffing and cranberry relish. There is also salads, sandwiches and a broad selection of grab-and-go items. A variety of the company’s signature desserts can be found at the MIA location, with more than 15 options at any given time.

For the airport location, Icebox Café© originally was going to deliver meals to travelers at their gates, but airport logistics put that plan on hold. Instead, it created a service allowing travelers to order their meals ahead of time and have a fully outfitted lunchbox waiting for them at the restaurant, next to Gate D-8; customers can also walk up to the location and order their food there. The 1,120 sq. ft. store has seating for 45.

Icebox Café© is a reflection of its environment: unrivaled selection of house-made foods, unique product development and merchandising, sophisticated and approachable interior design, award-winning desserts, efficient and friendly service,” says Robert Siegmann, owner. “Icebox Café© is redefining the quick-serve experience.”
