Jacobsen|Daniels Opens Local Concepts at JAN

Jacobsen|Daniels has opened two locally-themed restaurants at Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport (JAN), Mississippi Blues & Tap and Capital City Tavern.

Mississippi Blues & Tap is a full service restaurant with a bar featuring regional cuisine and local beer, wine and spirits where passengers can enjoy décor and music representing the history of Mississippi blues. Capital City Tavern is a full-service, sit-down restaurant and bar featuring regional cuisine, customary favorites and specialty cocktails.

“We are very excited to partner with Jacobsen|Daniels and our local vendors to bring new, local-themed food and beverage concepts to Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport,” says LaWanda Harris, chairwoman of the Jackson Municipal Airport Authority Board of Commissioners, operators of JAN. “The new concepts will provide a taste of the region that will be sure to leave a positive, lasting impression of the City of Jackson and the State of Mississippi.”

The new dining options for JAN passengers follows the recent opening of two other concessions at JAN, Farish Street Market and Cup O’ Joe.

“Our strategy for JAN is to bring quality food and beverage products and great customer service to the airport by partnering with strong local vendors and staff trained in the art of customer service,” says Kurt Schwager, vice president of J|D Operational Services. “We are excited to work with JAN and improve the journey for JAN passengers by bringing local flavors into the airport.”
