Longtime ANC Director Submits Resignation

Mort Plumb, airport director at Ted Stevens Anchorage International (ANC) for the past 13 years, has resigned, effective July 1.

An Anchorage television station says that he did not give a reason for leaving in the one-sentence letter given Friday to the state Department of Transportation and Gov. Sarah Palin.

A plan to add a fourth runway to the airport drew complaints from airlines and the public, mostly aimed at Plumb.
