Mango Taco Truck, Pappas Barbeque To Arrive At Houston Airports

George Bush Intercontinental (IAH) and William P. Hobby (HOU) are each going to have a new dining option.

At IAH, Los Platos in Terminal C North will undergo not only a renovation, but a name change. The name will be the Mango Taco Truck, and it will offer authentic Latin dishes. The front counter will mimic the look of a window found on a roadside taco truck.

“The Mango Taco Truck is going to be a lot of fun for diners,” says Randy Goodman, concessions manager with the Houston Airport System. “Every aspect of the concept has a keen focus on comfort and fun, from the patio seating right down to the color scheme.”

At Hobby, Pappas Barbeque will arrive near the main entrance in a pre-security area. Construction is scheduled to begin before Labor Day, with the grand opening in early November.

“Tex-Mex and Barbeque are two staples in the Texas diet,” Goodman says. “So both of these eateries are going to help us enhance the Texas identity that we want to convey to customers as they pass through or visit Houston. It’s important to offer customers a sense of place.”
