Miami International (MIA) and the Transportation Security Administration have opened an application site in the airport for TSA PreCheck, the expedited screening program that allows travelers to leave on their shoes, light outerwear and belt, and to keep their laptop and 3-1-1 compliant liquids and gels in their carry-on bags.
The PreCheck program allows U.S. citizens and lawful residents to go through the enrollment process online at www.tsa.gov and visit an application center to provide biographic information, fingerprints, valid identification and an application for a five-year membership. The fee for applying to the program is $85.
