New Parking Experience Coming To RDU

Travelers through Raleigh-Durham International (RDU) will soon be able to reserve parking spots based on convenience, location and cost.

The airport has announced a new program, ParkRDU, that will launch on April 4. Through the program, passengers will have access to all parking facilities, but the facilities will have new designations – ParkRDU Central, ParkRDU Premier and ParkRDU Economy.

ParkRDU Central includes more than 10,000 parking spaces that are within walking distance of both terminals. ParkRDU Premier has 1,000 spaces in a covered area on the ground level of the main parking garage. ParkRDU Economy features more than 9,000 spaces that are a short shuttle ride away from the terminals.

Additionally, travelers will be able to use an online booking system, parkrdu.com, to reserve spots ahead of time starting on May 1. By booking early, they can get lower rates by using a QR code on a mobile device or printed confirmation.

“The online booking system removes the stress of hoping there’s space in your preferred parking area when you arrive for your flight or to greet loved ones,” says, Michael Landguth, president and CEO of RDU. “By booking ahead of time, customers can ensure they have a spot available when they arrive, and get the lowest rate possible.”

ParkRDU Central will cost $2/hour for up to four hours with a maximum of $14 per day. ParkRDU Premier will cost $3/hour for up to four hours with a maximum of $18 per day. ParkRDU Economy 3 will cost $1 per hour for up to four hours at a maximum of $7 a day. ParkRDU Economy 4 will cost $1/hour for four hours at a maximum of $6 per day.
