The Ottawa International Airport Authority has launched a customer facilitation mobile app called FlyCanada, which features information and tools staff say are designed to make the travel experience at Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International (YOW) simple and more enjoyable.
FlyCanada provides up-to-date lists of arriving and departing flights, gate information and status updates, parking information, a link the secure parking reservations and a place to store parking details so passengers can remember where they parked.
“This app is about providing a better customer experience by keeping our passengers informed and more prepared,” says Mark Laroche, president and CEO of the authority. “If something is happening that affects flight schedules or the airport, we will tell our app users about it through push notifications.”
The app will evolve over the months ahead with more features to come. Airport officials are inviting other Canadian airports to join the app so passengers can access information about their entire travel schedule in one place. It’s available via the App Store and Google Play.
