Paradies Inks 7-Year Deal For Retail Concessions At SLC

The Paradies Shops has signed a seven-year contract to bring a mix of national, regional and local retail concepts to Salt Lake City International (SLC).

Among the retailers will be Red Onion TravelMart, featuring a deli atmosphere within a convenience-store setting; Sam Weller’s Bookstore, selling e-readers, reading accessories, reading glasses, stationery and gifts; KSL5 Newsstand, offering local, regional and national newspapers, books and magazines; Visit Salt Lake, where customers can learn about the city and region; KidZoo, featuring The Hogle Zoo, a partnership with the Hogle Zoo offering products from its gift shop and the ZooCam, where travelers can watch live coverage from zoo exhibits; and Utah’s Own, where consumers can buy locally produced and grown products such as prepared foods, jams and jellies, homemade crafts, jewelry, local artists’ music, and handmade clothing and art.

National brands will include CNBC News, EA Sports and Brighton Collectibles.

“Salt Lake City International Airport is one of the most beautiful airports in the country, and we are extremely excited to bring these concepts to SLC,” says Gregg Paradies, president and CEO of The Paradies Shops. “Our partnerships with local and regional favorites such as Red Onion, Sam Weller’s, KSL, The Deseret News, Visit Salt Lake and Utah’s Own give us the opportunity to bring a taste of Utah to the traveling public.”

John Buckner, director of commercial services and administration at the airport, says, “The Salt Lake City Department of Airports looks forward to adding the products, expertise and quality that The Paradies Shops are widely known for. They will bring a perfect blend of concepts to the Airport’s retail program.”
