Paradies Signs Agreement To Operate Forbes Newsstands In North American Airports

Paradies has inked an exclusive license agreement to operate the first Forbes
newsstands in North American airports.

The first store of four stores is open at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County (DTW); additional stores are slated for Ronald Reagan Washington National (DCA) and Washington Dulles International (IAD) this month.

“Given the high volume of international and domestic travelers that our first four target airports attract, we felt Forbes would be a win-win for them and their passenger base,” said Gregg Paradies, president and CEO of Paradies. “We look forward to uniting the Forbes mission to deliver information on the people, ideas and technologies changing the world with Paradies’ long-standing mission to deliver first-class service that exceeds the expectations of the airports and travelers we serve.”

The stores will focus on news and technology for travelers seeking news in business, investing, technology, entrepreneurship, leadership, philanthropy and affluent lifestyles. The Forbes video network will be shown on in-store televisions, and customers will be able to explore Forbes.com via interactive kiosks. Each store also will after an extensive selection of local, national and international newspapers, magazines and books, along with traveler needs such as electronics, health and beauty accessories, luggage, local and regional apparel, convenience items, and snacks and beverages.

“For years, Forbes has enjoyed a strong connection with travelers thanks to the widespread availability of the magazine, and we’re excited to team up with leading airport concessionaire Paradies to further reach our customer base,” says Nina LaFrance, senior vice president of consumer marketing and business development at Forbes Media. “Today, travelers are looking for news and information that will improve their overall trip experience, and the most trusted brands stand out. The Forbes Travel Stores will provide a convenient, one-stop-shop offering magazines, books, food and personal products, plus Forbes’ news on the go via interactive touch-screen computers and videos.”
