PDX Opens Speakeasy

Travelers passing through Portland International Airport (PDX) have a new hangout spot to enjoy — if they know where to look. The Pacific Northwest airport has opened its first speakeasy, a celestial-inspired bar called Aurora hidden within and operated by the Loyal Legion beer hall (customers can access the speakeasy by requesting a code from the Loyal Legion staff).

The pre-security space named after the Roman goddess of dawn and designed by ELK Collective features bright, art-deco interiors, constellation-themed décor, technicolor window treatments, and a menu of local beer, wine and small plates as well as curated cocktails like the Aurora Sour (Rittenhouse Rye, Midori, lemon, egg white, red wine float), Resting Rich Face (Beefeater gin, Italicus, lime, grapefruit, soda) and Diamond Tooth (Haku vodka, yuzu, coconut, lemon).
