reachTV to Take Over CNN Airport Screens

Linear short-form television network reachTV announced this week it is taking over CNN Airport screens at more than 15 major U.S. airports.

CNN announced several months ago that it was shutting down the CNN Airport Network on March 31, 2021.

ReachTV is moving to provide content for those more than 1800 screens and said more than 15 U.S. airports have already agreed to terms, adding that other airports have contracts pending. The announcement comes as air traffic begins to pick-up with vaccinations increasing and public confidence in air travel returning.

“As we fast approach our fifth anniversary, what a momentous time to be expanding,” said Lynnwood Bibbens, CEO and founder of reachTV. “Along that journey we’ve formed powerful alliances with the best content partners in the world including NBCU (Today, CNBC, Sports and Peacock) and forged partnerships with AMC, A&E, Players TV – securing content from every sports league, as well as creating originals and exclusive shows from our Miami-based TV studio.”

Airport and concessionaire operators are no strangers to reachTV, the company said, as they already have content on screens in more than 700 airport food and beverage outlets. Along with expanding its footprint in the U.S., reachTV said it has principal agreements to roll-out the TV network throughout airports in Australia, Dubai, Singapore and across the United Kingdom.
