Santa Barbara Selects Clear Channel Airports For Advertising Network

The city of Santa Barbara has awarded Clear Channel Airports a five-year contract to provide a customized advertising network for Santa Barbara Municipal (SBA).

The company, a division of Clear Channel Outdoor Americas, will help advertisers reach an affluent clientele of nearly 700,000 passengers annually via SBA’s new terminal.

The deal comes with a five-year extension option. The new program is scheduled to be implemented during the first half of 2017.

SBA built its new terminal – a 72,000-square-foot Spanish Revival building – in 2011. Company officials say Clear Channel’s new advertising program creates a medium for regional business to connect with visitors and grow regional commerce. The new digital assets will include aesthetically consistent features that honor the Spanish Revival historical style of the terminal.

Elements will include large format LCD displays above the main arrivals escalator that will reach arriving passengers, a concourse level digital LCD network aimed at passengers with extended dwell times, and eco-friendly tension fabric displays allowing advertisers a significant voice with minimal terminal disruption to finishes and décor.

“The Clear Channel program will be the first in our new terminal,” says Hazel Johns, airport director. “We were careful to choose just the right company that can bring unique and innovative advertising to SBA, while enhancing SBA’s very unique passenger experience.”
