SLC Unveils 12 Concessions For Phase 3

Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) has selected 12 additional restaurants and retail shops planned for The New SLC Phase 3, which is expected to open in fall of 2024.

The concessions footprint in this phase of redevelopment amounts to 19,260 square feet.  Bambuza Hospitality Group, HMSHost, Marshall Retail Group, Paradies Lagardère, SLC Airport Concessions Group and SSP America all won locations in this latest tranche.

On the food and beverage side, SSP America will open and operate Thirst, a local soda concept that offers dirty sodas, soft pretzels, beignets and other pastries, as well as grab and go sandwiches, salads and wraps; and Sunday’s Best, a local concept offering savory and sweet dishes, along with contemporary cuisine diversity.

Bambuza Hospitality Group will open its signature Bambuza Vietnam Kitchen, offering noodle soups, fresh salad rolls, wok-seared specialty bowls and sandwiches; and will also open a location of The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.

HMSHost will open a location of popular Italian-American casual dining concept Maggiano’s Little Italy. while Paradies Lagardère will open a location of the popular burger chain Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers. Paradies Lagardère also won on the retail side, with contracts to open a Relay travel convenience store and an Apple-licensed iStore Express.

Marshall Retail Group will operate three retail locations: Cotopaxi, a local apparel, accessories and gear brand that started in SLC in 2014; Weller Book Works, a Salt Lake City original; and Travel Right, a new convenience brand that focuses on providing healthy and local items. Finally, SLC Airport Concessions Group will open The Canyon, a concept that will feature the work of local artists and artisans.

“The new airport has received national accolades for our concession’s program,” said Bill Wyatt, executive director, Salt Lake City Department of Airports. “These unique restaurants and shops are expected to garner five-star reviews as well.”

Airport officials said street pricing is a requirement for all concessions locations.
