SSP signs on at three Greek airports

SSP International has signed concessions contracts at two airports in Cyprus that could keep the company there until 2031. SSP and its joint venture partner !Louis along with their JV Cyprus Trading Company/Aer Rianta, signed contracts to operate all food and beverage units at Paphos International (PFO) and Larnaca Airport (LCA) until 2019.

The contracts contain extensions through 2031. They are the longest ever signed by SSP, according to a statement, and they cover these two locations and two new airports expected to open in Larnaca and Paphos within three years.

“In our business, long-term commitment and true partnership are essential for success,” says Johann Weinzettl, CEO of SSP Central Europe, in a statement. “This new contract win is an excellent example of how business can work together to mutual benefit over a number of years and even decades.”

SSP also has signed a five-year contract to operate several locations at Athens International (ATH). The concepts include two Caffe Ritazza kiosks and the Olive Tree restaurant, which will run until December 2011. A second contract covering a food court featuring Greek Gourmet, Upper Crust, Sbarro and a food-to-go section with salad bar and juice island will be in effect until December 2013.
