STL Bathrooms Getting Facelift

Lambert-St. Louis International (STL) will soon be flush with new restrooms as part of its ongoing Airport Experience Program.

The first set of bathrooms that feature bright white counters, new Terrazzo flooring and colorful walls have opened in Concourse A near Gate A-8. All restrooms in the concourse, as well as in Concourse C and Terminal 1 will be renovated, and a set will be built in Terminal 1 Baggage Claim.

“This is a major focus of our renovation program because we’ve heard from our passengers and airport users,” says Director Rhonda Hamm-Niebruegge. “We know clean and accessible restrooms facilities are important to our travelers, and we think they will notice a dramatic change with the makeover of our facilities.”

The bathrooms – men’s, women’s and family assist – will also feature ADA-compliant counters, stalls and fixtures, along with new lighting and tile wall surfaces.

The renovations are part of the airport’s $50M in projects for Phase II of the Airport Experience, which includes changes to Terminal 1 and Concourses A & C. In the concourses will be new lighting, new ceiling treatments, full tile flooring through the main corridors, new signage and art displays. Construction is also continuing in Terminal 1.

Construction on these projects is scheduled through late 2012.
