Tom Bradley Terminal Certified LEED Gold

The Tom Bradley International Terminal at Los Angeles International (LAX) has received Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.

That makes TBIT, a 1.25 million-square-foot facility, the largest LEED Gold airport terminal in the United States, according to Fentress Architects, which designed it.

In addition to several sustainability features, the terminal’s interior architecture comprises seven large media features with more than 12,000-square-feet of LED tiles and hundreds of LCD screens that show multimedia productions depicting vignettes from around the world for passenger entertainment, officials say.

TBIT also includes several elements of regional design and the Bradley West project, which included a 15-gate terminal and concourse, more than 100,000 square feet of concessions and an international arrivals facility give the building capacity for growth.
