UCG Associates, Unison-Maximus Become Unison Consulting

UCG Associates Inc. has acquired all of the outstanding capital stock of Unison-Maximus Inc. The combined company will be called Unison Consulting Inc. and will be privately held.

The combined company, which will be one of the largest minority business enterprises specializing in airport consulting, will be able to offer more comprehensive consulting services as well as have more staff resources.

“The decision to align with Unison was a logical growth step for UCG to further enhance our position within the industry strategically,” says Yovette Drake, UCG president.  “Essentially, we are bringing together senior management from both firms that have several years of experience providing finance, economic, retail concessions, information systems and program management consulting services.”

Anthony Drake, president of Unison, added, “UCG’s consulting services are a perfect complement to Unison.”  “We look forward to what this opportunity will mean and the future of the new organization.”

In the new company Yovette Drake will be president, and her brother Anthony Drake will be executive vice president. There will be four business practice areas: finance and economics, retail concessions planning and management, information systems and program management.

Founded in 1989 and headquartered in Chicago, IL, Unison Consulting Group provided consulting services to airports.  The company became Unison-Maximus after becoming a wholly owned subsidiary of Maximus, a leading government service provider of program management, consulting and information technology services.  Maximus has since divested itself of Unison and other non-healthcare divisions.  Founded in 2004  as a minority, women and disadvantaged business enterprise by former Unison employees, UCG Associates provided consulting services to both airports and governments.   Both companies have offices in Chicago, St. Louis, Orange County (CA) and San Antonio.
