United Concessions Group Bringing Local Fare To CLE

A local dining favorite is en route to the new AIRMALL® at Cleveland-Hopkins International (CLE).

Panini’s Bar & Grill, established in 1986 in the Cleveland Flats, began as a neighborhood sandwich shop and now has nearly 20 locations across Ohio. It will arrive at CLE thanks to a lease signed by United Concessions Group to open the brand-approved franchise.

“Panini’s Bar & Grill has redefined the art of sandwich making in Cleveland with its mile-high signature sandwiches, loaded with fresh-cut french fries and coleslaw,” says Mark Knight, president of BAA Cleveland, which is developing the AIRMALL®. “It makes for an unmistakable dining experience, and BAA Cleveland is pleased that it has forged an agreement with United Concessions Group to open a Panini’s at the new AIRMALL®.”

The restaurant, known for its overstuffed sandwiches, will be in a 1,700 sq. ft. location in Concourse C at the AIRMALL®; it will have a bar and full-service restaurant, serving up items such as appetizers, salads, wraps, sandwiches, pizza, wings and burgers.

“Cleveland Hopkins International Airport is focused on giving travelers quality dining options, especially ones that represent the best that Cleveland has to offer,” says Ricky Smith, director of CLE. “Panini’s Bar & Grill will certainly add local flavor to the offerings and contribute to an enhanced passenger experience. We are delighted to welcome them to the new concessions program.”

United Concessions Group will close its Cleveland Fruit and Nuts Shop on May 31 as part of the airport’s concessions redevelopment.
