Warehouse District Flavor Lands At AUS

Delaware North Companies Travel Hospitality Services opened the Austin Warehouse District at Austin-Bergstrom International (AUS) in September.

The concept, which celebrates the culture of the city’s historic warehouse district, has four sections: The Taste of Texas, with regional foods; Texas Souvenirs, offering Texas- and Austin-themed merchandise; Sounds of Texas, a music store highlighting local artists, and UT Merchandise, with products related to the University of Texas.

“Delaware North prides itself on developing concepts that help travelers identify with the places and regions that surround an airport,” says Matt King, president of Travel Hospitality Services. “The Austin Warehouse District is a special retail concept that truly highlights the rich history of the Austin area. We’re excited it’s opened at Austin-Bergstrom Airport.”

The historic district, which has trendy and modern restaurants, concert halls, clubs and bars, is just west of the central business district downtown. Almost all of the bars are in renovated warehouses, and there is often live music.

The Austin Warehouse District can be found in the Barbara Jordan Terminal near Gate 10.

The Irish Pub, offering a full selection of branded beverages featuring Guinness Stout and casual fare, has opened at Newark Liberty International (EWR).

Delaware North opened the concept, which is reminiscent of some of the famous pubs in Dublin.

The company was successful with the concept at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County (DTW), and the EWR bar’s menu and designs were modeled on that location.
