Westfield Adds 13 Retail Locations At Boston Logan’s Terminal C

A renovation and retail revamp of Terminal C at Boston Logan International (BOS) came to fruition last week with the opening of 13 new retail locations.

Westfield Concession Management, developer and manager of the Terminal C concessions program, added the new concessions after a $62M terminal improvement project, undertaken by Massport, was completed last year. The project consolidated two smaller security checkpoints into one larger area and converted what was primarily pre-security retail in two separate areas into one retail court post-security. The 140,000 square foot renovation project included 12,000 square feet of new retail and food space.

“The design itself was a huge upgrade to the terminal,” says Leah Teeven, airport concessions business manager at BOS, noting that the finishes and storefront design are “more modern and more fitting with the terminal.”

The program additions include 13 retail brands, three of which are airport “firsts.”

“Westfield and Massport are very proud to have three airport firsts in Boston Logan C,” says Gerry Cecci, vice president of airport management for Westfield Concession Management. “We partnered with Hudson [Group] and brought in Vineyard Vines, the first one in an airport location. With LS Travel Retail we brought the first iStore Boutique in an airport in the United States, and we also brought in The Black Dog.”

Two of the airport firsts are local brands. Vineyard Vines is an apparel and accessory retailer founded on Martha’s Vineyard. The Black Dog, which originally opened in Vineyard Haven, Mass., specializes in “black dog”-themed apparel and gifts. “It’s really great to promote these successful local brands,” says Teeven.

After iStore Boutique, other concepts in the mix include The Bead Factory, Life is Good, Swatch, SoundBalance, Hudson News & Gifts (2), Kids Works, New England Collections, Be Relax, Starbucks and Travel+Leisure.

More food options are in the works. Cecci says Westfield “took an already very good food and beverage mix and added a couple more. Additions will include a Potbelly Sandwich shop, the first of its kind in Massachusetts, as well as a sit-down Legal Sea Foods restaurant and a Pinkberry frozen yogurt shop.
