U.S. Rep. Bill Shuster Will Not Seek Re-Election

U.S. Rep. Bill Shuster (R-PA) will not seek re-election to the U.S. House of Representatives for the coming term. He will focus instead on rallying bipartisan efforts in both chambers to pass necessary infrastructure legislation.

Shuster, who has represented Pennsylvania’s 9th District in the House for 17 years, has spent five years as chairman of the U.S. House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. During that time Shuster has pushed for the privatization of the air traffic control system. Though his past efforts have met resistance from both parties, his bill was once again under discussion in Trump’s infrastructure talks.
