British Airways To Invest $110 Million In U.S. Airports

British Airways will invest $110 million in its U.S. airport facilities, including a $65 million enhancement to Terminal 7, which the airline operates at John F. Kennedy International (JFK).

The JFK investment will improve the customer experience at check-in, security and at boarding gates. The airline’s First Class and Business Class lounges also will receive attention.

British Airways also will renovate lounges at Boston Logan International (BOS), San Francisco International (SFO), Miami International (MIA), Chicago O’Hare International (ORD), George Bush Intercontinental (IAH) and Seattle-Tacoma International (SEA). The investments will take place over the next five years.

Alex Cruz, chairman and CEO of British Airways, announced the investments during a trip to New York, during which he also unveiled the airline’s new partnership with Alaska Airlines.

“We are excited to start work on a targeted investment plan to make improvements for our customers,” he says. “We have already introduced the newest aircraft in our fleet onto many of our popular routes in the U.S., and we want to ensure the lounge facilities match that premium experience.”
