Concessions Plans From HMSHost, Hudson Group Under Way For BHM

New concessions are en route to Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International (BHM) as part of the first phase of the airport’s Terminal Modernization Project, slated to be complete early next year.

HMSHost Corp. will bring a Good People Brewing Co. and Starbucks to Terminal A; Chick-fil-A and The Great American Bagel Bakery will be in the node of Concourses A and B; and Jim ‘N Nick’s Bar-B-Q will be just past the new centralized checkpoint. The new dining concessions will encompass about 285,000 sq. ft. in Phase 1.

Hudson Group will operate the news and gifts concessions at BHM. In the first phase of the project, two Hudson News stores will join the lineup: a 1,295 sq. ft. store in Terminal A and a 585 sq. ft. store in Terminal B; in addition, a 949 sq. ft. CNN Newsstand-Birmingham will be on Terminal A.

A shoeshine stand also will open as part of the modernization.

“Passenger feedback was a driving force for the fresh and expanded concession offerings,” says Al Denson, president and CEO of the Birmingham Airport Authority. “We believe we have a program that the community can be proud of and passengers can be excited about.”
