The Humboldt County Department of Aviation has named Ryan Cooley its next director of aviation. Cooley, who began his role on June 9, will be responsible for managing operations, development and long-term planning at Humboldt County’s six airports. Prior to joining Humboldt County, Cooley served as airport director for Crescent City’s Border Coast Regional Airport Authority where he managed Jack McNamara Field (CEC).

“I am thrilled to join Humboldt County as the next director of aviation because it represents an incredible opportunity to continue my passion for aviation management while making a positive impact in the  community,” said Cooley. “I am particularly drawn to the county’s commitment to growth and innovation, and I look forward to working with the dedicated team to enhance the airport’s services and  operations. My experience in airport management and dedication to safety and customer service align with their vision, and I am eager to contribute to the county’s continued success.”
