Delaware North Brings Boulder Beer To DEN

Delaware North Companies Travel Hospitality Services brought Colorado’s oldest microbrewery to Denver International (DEN) when it opened Boulder Beer.
Boulder Beer Co. was founded in 1979 by two professors at the University of Colorado who applied for a brewing license. It has since changed hands, but it’s still located in Boulder, Colo.

Delaware North believes the concept will help travelers identify with Denver and Colorado culture.

“We’re passionate about the cities and airports we operate within worldwide and we work hard to find concepts which emulate their culture,” says Matt King, president, in a statement. “Opening a concept like Boulder Beer Co. in Denver is how we go about achieving that goal.”

Boulder Beer could not immediately be reached, but its Web site indicates that it has had success over the years. In 2002, it notes, the company won a Gold Medal at the Great American Beer Festival for its Boulder Porter. Two years later, then-president Gina Day was named Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year.
