The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) has announced plans to open 11 new concessions at both Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) over the next year. The new dining and retail concepts, operated by MWAA concessions program manager Fraport, are part of MWAA’s multi-year concessions overhaul. Since launching the initiative in 2023, MWAA has opened 47 new or updated concessions across both airports.
Concessions slated to open at IAH include Perch & Roost, an all-day cafe offering breakfast, sandwiches and salads; Social House; a Loudoun County-based craft beer bar; 2 Silos Brewing Co. and Aslin Beer Co., both craft beer bars; The Market at Shenandoah, a locally focused retail store with a built-in, full-service Starbucks; Wanderlust, a gourmet chocolate, gift and souvenir shop; an additional new Starbucks location; and Clyde’s, a restaurant offering local and farm-to-table fare. Concessions slated to open at DCA include Maker’s Union, a chef-driven, modern American gastropub; Wiseguy Pizza, a quick-service local pizza brand; and apparel retailer Johnston & Murphy.
“The Airports Authority continues its focus on brands that represent the regional D.C. experience,” said Jaimini Erskine, MWAA’s vice president of marketing and concessions. “These openings enhance the passenger experience and create economic opportunities for businesses around the area to deliver high-quality, local and unique offerings.”
“These multi-phase redevelopment efforts will introduce new retail and dining options that highlight the best of the DMV region and beyond, also featuring popular national brands that surprise and delight travelers,” added Alyson Murphy, vice president of Fraport Washington Partnership LLC. “This initiative reflects the high-quality mix of retail, and we are proud to bring them to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and Washington Dulles International Airport.”
