The world woke up to yet a new crisis this weekend, as the news spread of a growing number of cases of a form of swine flu that has spread to humans. Most cases to date appear to be concentrated in Mexico, but cases have been confirmed in the U.S. and Canada, with suspected cases in New Zealand, Israel and France, according to media reports.
The strain of swine influenza (H1N1) has killed an estimated 100 people in Mexico since April 16, but the other reported cases appear to be mild so far.
