ARN Campaign Highlights Importance Of Airports

Airport Revenue News has initiated its annual monthly campaign to promote the importance of airports as a vital component of the global economy. In its September issue, the magazine covers critical issues facing airports during a difficult economic period and provides insightful reporting on the political factors hindering the industry. Additionally, interviews with 15 key directors from large, medium and small airports provide a keen perspective on what can be done for the U.S. airport industry to advance and meet future capacity expectations.

“I do not believe our federal legislators and general populace truly understand how essential airports are to sustaining and growing our economy,” says Pauline Armbrust, president and CEO of Armbrust Aviation Group, which publishes ARN. “Especially during these tough economic times, public education and support for more airport funding should be a top priority.”

The goal of this monthlong campaign is to showcase the importance of airports to local communities, as well as at the national and legislative level. The September issue is instructive in its coverage of airports and therefore will be distributed to appropriate federal legislators, select local and national media, and other government officials. The issue will also be distributed at the Airports Council International annual conference, which generally attracts more than 2,000 airport industry professionals. To supplement ARN’s efforts, video footage of several influential directors emphasizing the value of airports will be featured on the company’s Web site over the next several months,  www.airportrevenuenews.com.
