Commercial Development Specialist

Starting Salary: $38,511 ($18.51/hour)
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Must be willing to work flexible hours, including occasional weekend hours.

Coordinates concession activities and programs along with other property management/development activities for the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority.

Responsible for coordinating various activities relating to the property/concession management functions in the leasing and inspection of airport concessions and property, including but not limited to preparing a variety of concession agreements and related leases, concessions procurement, maintaining favorable tenant relations, inspecting leased airport properties for compliance with terms and conditions of the agreements and leases, and research pertaining to the retail, food & beverage concession property industries. Periodically will conduct inspections, evaluations and monitor airport leaseholds and facilities to ensure compliance with terms and conditions contained in leases and concession agreements and established Authority practices.

Required to accurately interpret airport agreements and documents. May prepare leases, amendments, permits, and other legal documents; conducts industry surveys; responds to general requests regarding airport concessions and properties.  Maintains accurate records of all lease and concession agreements; identifies effective dates and terminations dates, and description of type of concession operations, monitors and follows-up for compliance to all agreements, leases, permit terms and conditions, e.g. security deposits, bonds, insurance and construction deadlines.

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an approved college curriculum in business administration, aviation, or airport management. Knowledge of the laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to property management of an airport; knowledge of the principles and practices of general office management familiarity with the operation of a modern airport.

At least two (2) years of related experience with a strong emphasis in dealing with general public. Commercial or industrial real estate and/or airport management experience preferred.
